In short: Our store uses cookies to keep your cart and sign-in working and to keep the site secure. With your permission, where the law requires it, it also uses cookies that help us understand how the store is used. The subscriber dashboard sets no tracking or advertising cookies. You can change your choices at any time.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage, pixels and tags, do the same kinds of jobs. We call all of them "cookies" in this policy. Some are set by us (or by Shopify, which runs our store), and some by other companies whose tools we use.
2. How we use them
We use cookies to:
- keep your cart, checkout and sign-in working;
- remember your region, currency and choices;
- keep the store secure and prevent fraud;
- understand how the store is used, so we can fix and improve it;
- [measure how our marketing performs, if you use ad tools].
We don't use cookies to build a profile of your investments or finances, and we don't collect that information at all. See our Privacy Policy for what we do collect.
3. The subscriber dashboard
The dashboard sets no tracking or advertising cookies and has no analytics of its own. When you open it, Shopify confirms you are signed in, using the same sign-in cookies as the rest of the store. The dashboard also remembers which index tab you last viewed (SPY or QQQ) in your browser's local storage. That stays on your device and is not sent to us. The dashboard loads its typeface from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the font loads.
4. Cookies we use
Strictly necessary. These are needed to run the store, so they are always on. Examples include cookies that keep items in your cart, support secure checkout, keep you signed in to your account, remember your region and currency, record your cookie choices, and protect against fraud and abuse. Typical names: [cart, secure_customer_sig, localization, _tracking_consent, check against your store].
Analytics and performance. These tell us how visitors use the store, such as which pages they view and where they arrive from, so we can fix problems and improve it. Where the law requires consent, they are off until you accept.
Marketing and advertising. [Delete this paragraph if you use no ads pixels or marketing apps.] These measure how our marketing performs and may be used by advertising partners to show you ads on other sites. They are off until you accept, where the law requires. Tools used: [list apps, such as Meta Pixel or Google Ads].
Preferences. These remember choices you've made, such as your region or language, so you don't have to repeat them.
How long a cookie lasts depends on its type. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Others last from a few minutes to [a year or more]. A current list is shown in the cookie settings. For Shopify's cookies, see Shopify's cookie information.
5. Your choices
- Our cookie banner. Where the law requires it, the banner appears the first time you visit and lets you accept, refuse or choose categories. Strictly necessary cookies can't be refused, because the store can't work without them. You can reopen the banner at any time from the cookie settings link in the footer, and change your mind.
- Your browser. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the store, such as the cart, checkout and sign-in, may not work.
- Global Privacy Control and similar signals. [Where the law applies, we treat browser opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control as a request to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information.]
- Ad choices. [If you use advertising cookies: you can also use industry opt-out tools such as youradchoices.com.]
- Withdrawing consent. Changing your choices stops future use of optional cookies. It doesn't affect what happened before.
6. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by companies other than us, such as [Shopify's service providers and the tools listed above]. They have their own privacy and cookie policies, and we don't control them.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example when we add a tool or when the law changes. We'll post the new version with a new "Last updated" date, and ask for your consent again where the law requires it.
